A man remains in hospital after a violent attack at his home in Peacehaven last night. Masked thugs broke in, savagely beat the pensioner, and made off with jewellery.

Neighbours heard a commotion and called 999. Police found the victim unconscious, suffering serious injuries, including a bleed on the brain, punctured lungs, and a broken eye socket.
