Met Police Smash 100+ County Lines in Massive Crime Crackdown
The Metropolitan Police have busted more than 100 active county lines in a massive week-long operation aimed at organised crime gangs spreading drug violence across London and beyond.
Major Drug Hub Takedown
From Monday 23 June to Sunday 29 June, Met officers went all out to smash networks exploiting vulnerable people to run drugs. The target? Protecting at-risk individuals and slashing drug-related violence.
Huge Haul and Weapons Seized
- 123 weapons confiscated, including deadly samurai swords and Zombie knives
- Nearly 70kgs of Class A drugs recovered
- Stacks of Class A and B drugs, over £5,000 in cold cash
- Luxury items seized such as designer watches and sports cars
- Multiple arrests made, sending a strong message to organised crime gangs
Protecting the Vulnerable
Officers engaged with 260 people, many young and being groomed by gangsters. The Met stressed that shutting down county lines is crucial to safeguarding these vulnerable groups and tackling violence head-on.
“Disrupting county lines is key to keeping society’s most vulnerable safe,” a Met spokesperson said. “If you suspect someone is a victim, dial 999 immediately.”
To report concerns about county lines activity, contact Crimestoppers anonymously or call emergency services.
