Thieves Flee Empty-Handed After Attempted Basingstoke Theft

Thieves in a white Transit van made a dash after being caught red-handed in Basingstoke’s Brighton Hill area on Monday afternoon.

Around 4pm, the pair tried to nick a machine but were thwarted before they could grab anything. Luckily, a quick-thinking motorist spotted the attempted theft and gave chase, capturing the whole fiasco on video—plus the van’s registration.

Van Covered in Chaos as Passenger Throws Fire Extinguisher

The getaway vehicle, a high-top long wheelbase Transit with registration NC04 KXG, was in full panic mode. The passenger hurled all sorts of debris, including a fire extinguisher, at the pursuer’s car in a desperate bid to shake them off.

Police Continue Hunt for Culprits

Officers confirmed enquiries are ongoing as they attempt to track down the brazen thieves. No items were stolen thanks to the swift intervention of the vigilant witness.
