Tragic Crash on A21 Claims Life of 88-Year-Old Woman

At around 1:50pm on Tuesday 8 November 2022, police responded to reports of an overturned car beside the A21 near Tonbridge. The silver Nissan Micra, found in a wooded area off a slip road from Pembury Road, belonged to 88-year-old Eileen Johnston – who was sadly declared dead at the scene.

Missing Woman Found at Crash Site

Officers are piecing together the events leading up to the collision. Eileen had been reported missing from her home near croydon/" title="Croydon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Croydon prior to the crash. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now investigating her movements between Sunday 6 November and the day of the accident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detective Inspector Lynn Wilczek said: “We are checking CCTV and ANPR cameras between Eileen’s home and the crash site. We urge anyone who saw Eileen or her silver Nissan Micra to come forward.”
