Massive Search Underway for Missing Birdwatcher Timothy in Essex
Specialist officers from Essex Search and Rescue (ESAR) have scoured over 4 square miles, including Hylands Park, Meadgate Avenue, and along the River Chelmer, in a desperate bid to find missing Timothy. A 4km stretch of the river was even combed by canoe, showing just how seriously authorities are taking the search.
Huge Volunteer Effort Powers the Hunt
So far, 31 ESAR volunteers have clocked up an incredible 375 person-hours in the ongoing operation. Their tireless work has been crucial in covering every inch of the area. And the team isn’t backing down, continuing searches relentlessly.
Police Plea: Spot Timothy? Contact 101 Now
Detective Superintendent Scott Egerton said: “This has been an extensive investigation so far and we are continuing to do everything possible to find Timothy.”
He added: “The support from the public has been fantastic. I’d like to thank the community members who’ve come forward with information.”
Timothy is known as a keen birdwatcher who frequents Baddow, the A1114, Hylands Park, and Meadgate Avenue, often spotted wearing his distinctive yellow high-vis jacket—images of which have already been released. Police are also trying to ID a man seen with Timothy in early December, buying trainers at JD Sports in High Chelmer.
If you have any information about Timothy’s whereabouts or recognise the man, contact Essex Police on 101 immediately.
