Teen Weapon Warnings: Four Arrested in Elson Lane Standoff
Police swooped on Elson Lane at 3.25pm on Sunday, March 26, after reports of a row involving a gang of youths armed with weapons.
Officers quickly contained a nearby address and arrested four boys aged between 14 and 16. Searches uncovered air weapons, Airsoft gear, a knife, and hammers.
Youths Held Over Imitation Firearm Charges
The arrested lads are suspected of possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear. They remain in police custody as inquiries continue.
Police Hit Back with Tough Dispersal Order
During the operation, cops stopped and searched three more boys – two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old. Acting on fresh intel, police invoked dispersal powers under the Anti-social Behaviour Act, forcing them to leave the area.
This tough dispersal order is active until 4.40pm on Tuesday, March 28, banning anyone from returning within that time. Defying the order risks arrest and criminal charges.
