Knife-Wielding Duo Fail to Rob Youths on Busy Ayr Street

A knife-wielding man and his female accomplice tried to rob a group of teenagers near Mill Street’s River 1 walk at 8.30pm on Saturday, 2 April 2022. But the youths made a swift getaway, leaving the pair empty-handed and injured none.

Masked Man and Blonde Woman Wanted by Police

The man, described as slim, 5ft 9in, in his 20s with sallow skin, was wearing dark clothes, gloves, a snood, and had his hood up. His accomplice, a heavier-built blonde woman in her 40s, roughly the same height, had a sunken facial appearance and an uneven gait. She wore a white knee-length parka, cream jumper, light jeans, and trainers.

Police Appeal for Witnesses After Failed Robbery

“Thankfully none of the youths were injured as a result of this incident,” said Detective Constable Scott Hendry of Ayr CID. “The area was busy at the time, so we urge anyone who witnessed the event or spotted the suspects to come forward.”
