10 Dogs Seized in Surrey Raid as Police Hunt Owners
Officers Nab 10 Dogs in Surrey Bust
Police swooped on a Surrey site on Tuesday 16 March, seizing 10 dogs during a search warrant. The haul includes an assortment of Lurchers and Spaniels. Detectives at Crawley CID, alongside the specialist Rural Crime Team and other forces, launched a full investigation to track down the rightful owners.
Missing Pets Still in Care as Enquiries Continue
The seized dogs remain safe in a secure location, receiving ongoing medical care. Det Chief Insp John Wallace said: “We are desperately seeking the lawful owners of the remaining dogs which were seized in the recent warrant.”
He added, “We’re meticulously working through all information and pursuing every lead to identify these dogs. Our priority remains their health and welfare.”
Emotional Reunions and Ongoing Probes
Sussex Police reunited Willow, a two-year-old Cocker Spaniel, with her owners on 24 March. However, the search continues for other owners anxiously waiting news about their missing pets.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods but has since been released under investigation while enquiries proceed. The exact location of the raid remains undisclosed for operational reasons.
