Shocking Attack: Woman Slashed Across Face in Newport
Police on the Isle of Wight have launched a serious investigation after a woman was viciously slashed across the face in Newport’s High Street in the early hours of Sunday.
Brutal Assault Outside British Home Stores
The victim was walking home from a night out on Saturday evening when another woman suddenly attacked her with a broken glass bottle. The assault happened right outside British Home Stores, leaving the victim with severe facial injuries.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
A close friend revealed the injured woman was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital after the attack. The brutal slash came as their group moved aside on the pavement, trying to let others pass.
“I thought my friend was punched in the temple, but she was actually slashed,” said the friend. “The attacker was already running away when we realised what had happened. She put her hand to her face and saw all the blood running down. It was complete disbelief. The amount of blood was quite scary.”
Police Probe Underway
The Isle of Wight police confirmed an investigation is underway but have kept details under wraps for now. No arrests have been reported as officers hunt for the suspect involved in this horrifying attack.
