Police Hunt Man After Rape on Islington’s Dame Street
Detectives Seek Key Suspect
Detectives are urgently appealing to the public for help to identify a man wanted in connection with a reported rape on Dame Street, Islington. The shocking attack took place on Friday, 28 March.
The suspect is described as a Black male, slim build, believed to be in his late 20s. CCTV footage shows him dressed head-to-toe in black clothing at the time of the incident.
Police Release Image and Plea
Detective Constable Stephanie Knight from the Metropolitan Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Team said:
“We have released this image today hoping someone will recognise this man. If you do, you must let us know who he is.”
“Take a careful look and get in touch via 101, quoting 481/28MAR. Any bit of information could prove vital. If you see him, do not approach – call 999 immediately.”
Victim Supported, Investigation Ongoing
The victim is receiving specialist support from officers as the investigation continues. Police have confirmed this is not a gang-related incident, and a crime scene has been established.
