Police Hunt Two Reading Taxi Drivers Over Fatal IDR Crash

Collision Scene investigators are urgently seeking two taxi drivers in Reading who may hold vital clues about a fatal crash on the IDR road late Friday night.

Taxi Drivers May Hold Crucial Clues

Officers want to speak to two cabbies who reportedly saw the woman just moments before the tragedy. One driver told police he swerved to avoid the woman walking in a live lane near Queens Road around 12:30-12:45am Saturday. The woman was carrying a fare at the time.

Good Samaritan Driver Provided First Aid

The second driver stopped at the scene before emergency services arrived and helped by giving first aid alongside other members of the public. The victim was a woman in her 40s.

PC James Lovell of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a female pedestrian in the carriageway prior to the collision. I am particularly keen to speak to taxi drivers who might have stopped to speak to the woman before the incident.”
