Police Shut Down Massive Illegal Gathering in Harrow
Late on Sunday night, police were called to a packed house party in Harrow—except it was a religious service. Around 11:30pm on 25 October, officers arrived to find 86 people crammed inside a residential property, ignoring all social distancing and face mask rules.
Organiser Faces £10,000 Fine
The crowd made no effort to follow Coronavirus regulations. Police spoke with the organiser, who was warned the gathering broke the law. All 86 attendees were ordered to leave immediately.
Now, the organiser is facing a potential £10,000 fine for flagrantly ignoring life-saving rules.
Police Send Strong Warning
“The Coronavirus regulations have been put in place to protect us all and it is deeply disappointing that people continue to flout them,” said PC Sean Carroll of the North West BCU. “Large gatherings like this are a breeding ground for the virus. We make no apologies for shutting them down and reporting rule breakers.”
Authorities stress the importance of sticking to the rules to keep everyone safe. Don’t organise or join huge gatherings or risk hefty fines—and worse, spreading Covid-19.
