Shock Shooting at Sheffield Car Wash – Young Man Dead
A murder probe is underway after 21-year-old Lamar Leroy Griffiths was gunned down at the Diamond Hand Car Wash on Burngreave Road, Sheffield.
Tragic Evening Turns Deadly
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 6.45pm on Tuesday 29 March, responding to reports of gunfire. Lamar was found inside a blue BMW, shot multiple times. Despite frantic efforts at hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute
Lamar’s family have released a photo and paid moving tribute:
“Lamar Leroy Griffiths, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, boyfriend, cousin, and friend to many. Though you have gone in the physical, you live on through everyone that has been blessed and privileged by your presence. You will be truly missed.”
Specially trained officers are supporting the grieving family.
Police Hunt Gunmen – Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Hakin revealed the horrific details: “Lamar was sat inside a blue BMW in the car wash when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle. The killers fled in a white Ford Fiesta, which was later found burnt out in Darnall.”
Since then, police have executed a house search and arrest attempt in Kashmir Gardens, Darnall, and are pursuing all leads.
DCI Hakin urged the community: “We need anyone with information—CCTV, dashcam or mobile footage—to come forward. If you’re uncomfortable speaking directly, contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
He added: “Local officers will maintain a stronger presence to keep the community safe. If you have concerns, please talk to them.”
