Speedy Police Chase Nabs Foreshore Drug Dealer
On Wednesday, 4 November, VCTF officers were patrolling New Cross when they spotted a drug deal in action along Foreshore, SE8. The suspect bolted at the sight of the cops, tossing a white plastic bag into the nearby water as he fled. He was quickly caught and detained moments later.
Underwater Bag Holds Dope and Cash
The thrown bag floated on the water’s surface, prompting officers to call in the Marine Policing Unit (MPU). The MPU swiftly retrieved the package, which contained around 14 wraps of heroin and one unknown item, now sent for forensic testing.
The man was found carrying a hefty £800 in cash. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and remains in custody.

Inspector James Hendrick, VCTF: “This incident shows that tackling violent crime in London is a true Met-wide effort. Without the MPU’s support, recovering the suspected heroin safely might not have been possible.”
