Police Injured in Dramatic Harlaxton Walk Burglary Raid
Officers stormed a home in Harlaxton Walk, St Ann’s, just before 2.30am on 23 December after reports of a burglary. Inside, suspects refused to answer the door despite movement being heard. When police forced entry, chaos erupted.
Brutal Assault on Cops During Arrest
- One officer was hit by a piece of mortar, suffering a head wound needing 10 stitches.
- A second cop was punched square in the face.
- A third officer sprained his wrist after falling while helping with the arrests.
Two men, aged 27 and 42, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, assaulting police officers, and cannabis cultivation. Police found cannabis plants growing in three rooms — all set for destruction. Officers are still hunting a third suspect.
Inspector Slams Violence and Drug Crime
“Assaults on police officers who are simply carrying out their duties to keep our communities safe are completely unacceptable,” said Inspector Richard Markham of Nottinghamshire Police. “Violence of this nature will not be tolerated and I am pleased we now have two individuals in custody arrested in connection with this incident.”
He added: “The production and distribution of drugs harm communities and often link to other serious crimes. We remain committed to catching anyone involved in drug-related offences.”
