Three Men Busted with Stolen Goods After Police Chase
Unmarked Police Follow Ford Fiesta Into Car Park
At around 3pm on Tuesday, 24 August 2021, two constables in an unmarked police car spotted a suspicious Ford Fiesta on Sutton Road. Convinced the vehicle was connected to criminal activity, they tailed it into a supermarket car park.
Suspects Attempt to Flee But Are Quickly Cornered
As the Fiesta stopped, two men jumped out and tried to make a run for it. The officers pursued and tried to stop them for questioning and a search. One suspect became agitated, prompting off-duty cops and a member of the public to step in and help.
Stolen Electrical Goods Found, Trio Arrested
A third man who stayed by the car was also detained. A search of the Fiesta revealed a haul of suspected stolen electrical items hidden in the back. The three suspects, aged 59, 46, and 45, were arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen property and taken into custody.
