Tragic Crash on A1(M) Claims Three Lives
Paul Mullen, 51, from Washington, died in a horrific crash on the A1(M) at Bowburn. He was behind the wheel of a Toyota Hilux when the fatal smash happened at 6.20pm. Paul leaves behind a grieving partner and three young children.
His family said, “Our hearts are broken. Life will never be the same again. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”
Multi-Vehicle Pile-Up Sparks Fire
The crash involved four cars and two lorries. One of the lorries caught fire after the collision, adding to the chaos. A man and a woman in a Vauxhall Crossland also died at the scene. Their families are now being supported by specially trained officers.
Lorry Driver Arrested Over Deadly Crash
A 41-year-old lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
