Armed cops swoop in Ryde chaos as two men arrested
Armed officers from the Road Policing Unit, backed by a police dog handler, stormed Ryde’s Oakfield estate this Sunday just before 5pm. The drama unfolded on High Street after furious residents dialled 999.
Dangerous driving sparks police hunt
Locals reported a man recklessly tearing around the estate behind the wheel, visibly drunk and putting lives at risk. Police raced to the scene to investigate the dangerous driving claims.
Violence erupts on the street
But things took a wild turn when a second man, shirtless and covered in blood, started lashing out at officers. Despite insisting he “wasn’t looking for a fight,” he was swiftly handcuffed and bundled into a police van amid shouts and chaos.
Charges and crackdown
We understand the shirtless troublemaker has been arrested on suspicion of public order offences. The investigation is ongoing and more details will follow.
