£40k Cash Haul Sparks Drug Probe at Dover Port
A 24-year-old Birmingham man faced the heat when stopped at Dover Port on 21 June 2020. He was caught trying to leave the UK with over £40,000 in cash but had no explanation for it. Police let him go for the time being as they launched an investigation.

Fast forward to 14 October 2020, and the plot thickened. Around 7.30am, Kent Police, backed by the Metropolitan and West Midlands cops, hit two locations in Birmingham and London simultaneously.
The raids uncovered a stash of seized items including £8,000 in cash and a haul of mobile phones.
Two Arrested Over Money Laundering and Drug Supply
- A 33-year-old Birmingham man was hauled in on suspicion of money laundering and drug supply.
- The 24-year-old from Dover was later arrested at Perry Barr Police Station on suspicion of involvement in drug supply.
Both suspects have now been released, but detectives remain on the case as the investigation continues.
