Woman in 50s Fighting for Life After Woolwich Flat Horror
A woman in her 50s is in critical condition after a serious incident at a block of flats in Woolwich.
Early Morning Emergency at Nightingale Vale
The drama unfolded around 7:15am on June 3 at a residential address on Nightingale Vale, near Engineer Close. Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) teams rushed to the scene after reports of a seriously injured woman.
Emergency responders found the woman inside the flat with severe injuries. She was quickly rushed to a major trauma centre for urgent treatment.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder
Police have launched a full investigation into the cause of the woman’s injuries. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to a south London police station. He has since been bailed to return in mid-July.
Robust Response from Emergency Services
- The LAS deployed multiple resources including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, and an incident response team.
- London’s air ambulance sent a trauma team comprising a doctor and paramedic to deliver specialist care at the scene.
- The Metropolitan Police confirmed their ongoing involvement as inquiries continue.
Authorities have stressed the incident is not believed to be gang-related. A crime scene remains in place with investigations ongoing. More updates are expected as police work to piece together what happened.
