YouTube Cuts Russell Brand’s Cash Flow Amid Shocking Allegations
YouTube has slammed the brakes on Russell Brand’s cash machine by suspending monetisation on his channel. This drastic move comes after four women accused the comedian of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse, with incidents dating back to 2006-2013.
Serious Claims Backed by Major Media Probes
The explosive allegations were uncovered by a joint investigation from The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches. On top of that, the Metropolitan Police say they’ve received another sexual assault complaint tied to Brand, allegedly from 2003 in Soho.
Russell Brand has fiercely denied all claims, insisting every relationship was consensual.
YouTube’s Zero-Tolerance Stance
On Tuesday, YouTube revealed Brand’s channel can no longer generate income. The platform cited its strict “Creator Responsibility policy” designed to protect its users and ecosystem. A company statement declared:
“We have suspended monetisation on Russell Brand’s channel for violating our Creator Responsibility policy. If a creator’s off-platform behaviour harms our users, employees, or ecosystem, we take action to protect the community.”
This ban extends to all channels Brand owns or operates. The 48-year-old faces a digital blackout until the dust settles.
Tour Shows Postponed Amid Growing Backlash
Brand’s troubles aren’t confined to the internet. His remaining Bipolarisation tour dates have been put on ice. A Tuesday gig at Theatre Royal Windsor in Berkshire was among those postponed. Promoters admitted reluctantly to the decision, saying:
“We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it – but we know you’ll understand.”
