Two Men Hospitalised After Large-Scale Disturbance in Toxteth

Police are investigating a large-scale disturbance in Granby Street, Toxteth, that left two men injured on Tuesday evening (4 March).

Incident Details

Emergency services were called just before 9 PM following reports of an altercation in the area.

A man in his 20s suffered a stab wound to the chest

A man in his 40s sustained a laceration to his face

Both victims are receiving treatment in hospital, and their conditions remain under assessment.

Police Investigation & Road Closures

An investigation is underway, with:

  • Officers conducting witness interviews
  • CCTV and forensic enquiries ongoing
  • Road closures in place to allow for investigative work

Police Statement & Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher stated:

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what has taken place this evening. We know there was a disturbance around the Granby Street area, and as a result, two men have suffered injuries for which they are receiving hospital treatment.

“We are speaking to people at the scene and reviewing CCTV footage. If you were in the area and saw or heard anything, or have dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell footage, please contact us urgently.”
