Tragic Death After Person Hit by Train in South London
A person was fatally struck by a train near Mottingham Railway Station in South London on Sunday, December 4. The incident occurred just before midday between Lewisham and Sidcup stations.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called at 11:50 a.m. and quickly dispatched an ambulance crew, incident response officer, medics, and a hazardous area response team. Despite their best efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Train Services Suspended for Hours
Southeastern Railways halted train services between Lewisham and Sidcup for nearly two hours while emergency teams worked. At 11:53 a.m., Southeastern tweeted that the electric current had been switched off after a train hit someone.
The operator warned passengers of delays and cancellations, urging them to expect disruption until 3 p.m. An official statement read:
“A person has been hit by a train between Lewisham and Sidcup. Trains may be cancelled, delayed, or revised while emergency services respond to the incident.”
