A12 Shut Both Ways Near Chelmsford After Pedestrian Hit

The A12 in Essex is closed in both directions between the A130 and A414 after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Essex Police are leading the investigation, and collision experts are on site. The road closure is expected to last for some time as officers carry out their work.

Major Delays Expected – Follow These Diversions

If you’re heading southbound, leave the A12 at J19 (Boreham). Then follow the A130 through Chelmsford to the A130/A1016 roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A1016, heading to the A1016/A414 roundabout. Again, take the second exit onto the A414 and continue until you can rejoin the A12 at J15 (Webbs Farm Interchange).

Northbound drivers should take the opposite route. Allow plenty of extra time for your journey, as congestion and delays are likely.

Essex Police Urge Caution

Police urge all road users to stay patient and follow diversion signs carefully. Collision investigation work is ongoing and motorists must expect disruption in the Chelmsford area.
