Black Rock Marina Ramp Shut for New Pedestrian and Cycle Link

The Black Rock rejuvenation project is gearing up to boost local access with a shiny new pedestrian and cycle path connecting Black Rock to the Marina. But there’s a catch – the Marina’s lower exit ramp is set to close temporarily.

Traffic Changes Ahead

  • The lower Marina exit ramp will be shut while work is underway.
  • The upper Marina entrance ramp will switch from one-way to two-way traffic.

Contractors will kick off work the week starting 9 January, with aims to wrap up by summer.

Marina Stays Open Despite Disruption

Brighton and Hove Council reassures everyone: “The Marina will remain open for business as usual during construction.”

They also apologise for the hassle, especially to residents and visitors. Drivers heading west out of the Marina will be rerouted via Wilson Avenue and the Gas Works junction on Marina Way.

Bus Delays Expected

Brighton & Hove buses are in the loop and warn of possible delays, particularly on busy days.
