Massive Fire Erupts at Whitstable Harbour Commercial Building
Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a commercial property on the edge of Whitstable Harbour. Flames are fiercely engulfing a large warehouse right next to the town’s famous fish market.
Ten Fire Engines and Height Vehicle Attend
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene shortly after 1.30pm on Thursday. Ten fire engines and a height vehicle are tackling the inferno. A large high-volume pump has also been deployed to help douse the flames.
Road Closures and Safety Warnings in Place
Authorities have closed roads nearby to aid firefighting efforts. Crews use hose reel jets and compressed air foam to make steady progress against the fire.
A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Anyone living or working nearby should keep windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke, and avoid the area where possible while emergency services deal with the incident. Please share this message with anyone who may not have internet access, thank you.”
