EHDC Leader Richard Millard Calls on Businesses to Join Litter Blitz
East Hampshire District Council boss, Cllr Richard Millard, is on a mission to tidy up the area. He’s urging local businesses to take part in a major district-wide litter pick as part of the national Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
Businesses Must Clean Up Their Act
While council crews ramp up street cleaning and residents gear up for community litter picks, Millard says it’s vital that businesses don’t slack off. “If the district’s going to look its best, our local firms need to keep their yards, car parks, and premises just as spotless,” he declared.
Businesses who sign up via the EHDC website will get free support including litter pick tools, bin bags, hi-vis jackets and rubbish removal after the job’s done. It’s a simple way for companies to do their bit.
Big Clean-Up Kicks Off 17 March
The campaign runs from Friday 17 March to 2 April, timed to link with the national effort encouraging community groups to tidy up their neighbourhoods. Local volunteers are already registering litter picks across East Hampshire, from towns to villages.
Millard added, “We want businesses to see this as a community effort. Send us photos of your litter picks, and we’ll share them on social media to celebrate your good work.”
