Dagenham Blaze Destroys Wooden Shed – Man Hospitalised

Chaos erupted in Dagenham last night as a fierce fire tore through a single-storey wooden shed in the back garden of a semi-detached house on Crescent Road. Around 40 firefighters and six fire engines rushed to the scene after the first alarm sounded at 7.52pm.

Firefighters Battle Flames and Hazardous Gas Cylinders

The London Fire Brigade crews faced a tricky situation with four gas cylinders in the blaze area. They worked swiftly to cool the cylinders, preventing a potential explosion from the intense heat.

Victim Treated and Fire Controlled Quickly

London Ambulance Service treated and took one man to hospital following the incident. Residents dialled in about ten times, alarmed by the spreading flames. Firefighters from Dagenham, Ilford, Hornchurch, and Barking stations were deployed. The fire was brought under control by 9.11pm.

Cause confirmed as accidental.
