Tragic Train Incident Shuts Down East London Line
Emergency crews rushed to Rainham Station in East London on Sunday after a person was struck by a train. The incident happened just after midday, triggering a large-scale emergency response.
Air Ambulance and Rescue Teams Deploy
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: “We were called at 12.04pm to reports of a person hit by a train at Rainham Rail Station, Ferry Lane.”
Paramedics, two incident response officers, a clinical team leader, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were dispatched. London’s Air Ambulance was also on the scene. The rescue operation is ongoing.
Train Services Halted Between Barking and Grays
The c2c rail network has been suspended between Barking and Grays. A c2c Rail spokesperson said: “Because the police are dealing with an incident, train services on the entire c2c network may be altered.”
