They warned, “This shows how quickly fireworks misuse can escalate. We’ll have extra officers patrolling around Halloween and Bonfire Night to tackle misuse and illegal possession.”

Fire Chiefs Stress Safety Ahead of Bonfire Night

Craig Carter, Assistant Commissioner for Prevention and Protection at the LFB, urged people to skip backyard fireworks. “It’s safer and easier to go to professional displays. Our online map shows safe events across London.”

He added strict advice for those still using fireworks at home: “Only buy from licensed sellers with CE marks, secure fireworks properly, keep them away from buildings, trees, animals and people. Never use them if you’ve been drinking and always follow the Fireworks Code.”

With Bonfire Night looming, authorities warn that ignoring firework safety rules could end in serious incidents. Stay safe, London!
