Drug Dealer Jailed After Police Smash Major County Lines Operation
Simultaneous Raids Nab Class A Drugs
Police struck hard on Tuesday, 5 May, hitting two locations at once in Sussex and West London. Officers from the West Sussex Community Investigations team, backed by the Metropolitan Police, raided properties in Commonwealth Drive, Crawley, and Hammersmith, London.
The joint operation uncovered a haul of class A drugs, multiple mobile phones, and £2,000 in cash.
Suspect Caught and Sent Down
Nkrumah McKenzie, 31, from Flora Gardens, Hammersmith, was arrested at the London address. He faced two charges linked to supplying cocaine and heroin.
McKenzie pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court on 3 June. He was hit with a hefty four-and-a-half-year prison sentence and ordered to forfeit the seized cash.
County Lines Network Busted
Detective Sergeant Peter Yarrow of Sussex Police said: “This successful investigation was the result of tight teamwork and intelligence-sharing between the Metropolitan Police and us.”
He added that the County Lines drug route between London and Crawley has been completely smashed. Police vow to keep up the pressure with similar joint ops across Sussex and London.
