Blaze Destroys Disused Pub in Chadwell Heath
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters raced to tackle a massive fire at a disused pub on High Road, Chadwell Heath.
The two-storey building was mostly destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Heroic Bus Driver Raises Alarm
A passing bus driver spotted the flames and quickly alerted Transport for London (TfL), who then called the fire brigade.
Firefighters Battle Flames with High-Tech Help
Crews arrived to thick smoke billowing across the road. The fire had spread rapidly from the roof corner, engulfing most of the building. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours, even deploying drones to get a bird’s-eye view and better tackle the inferno.
Cause of Fire Remains a Mystery
The London Fire Brigade’s investigation team couldn’t determine the cause due to the severe damage.

The alarm was raised at 4:47 am, and the fire was under control by 7:17 am. Fire crews from Dagenham, Ilford, Romford, Hainault, Barking, and East Ham stations joined the fight.
