King’s Road Chaos: Massive Fire Forces Partial Closure in Chelsea
A major artery in Central London, King’s Road in Chelsea, is partially shut as firefighters battle a blaze near Sloane Square Tube station. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has set up a huge cordon, blocking the road westbound amid emergency operations.
Firefighters Swarm to Scene with 25-Metre Cordon
The LFB confirmed: “We’re currently at the scene of an incident at a building on King’s Road in Sloane Square. Several fire engines are in attendance, and a 25-metre cordon is in place as a precaution. Road closures are active, and the public is urged to avoid the area.”
Responding teams from Kensington, Soho, Chelsea, and nearby stations raced to the scene after receiving the call at 10:52 am.
Smoke in Basement Forces Evacuation of 50 People
About 50 people were evacuated from a five-storey mixed-use building following reports of smoke logging in the basement. Around 40 firefighters operating six fire engines are tackling the blaze.
Transport Disrupted: Bus Routes Diverted and Road Closed Both Ways
The A3217 King’s Road is now closed in both directions, causing major disruption. Several bus routes — including the 11, 19, 22, 211, 319, and 360 — are being diverted away from the area.
Authorities are advising commuters and locals to steer clear while fire crews work to bring the incident under control.
