Massive Hackney School Blaze Sparks Huge Fire Brigade Response
A fierce fire erupted this morning at a school on Downs Park Road, Hackney, sending shockwaves through the community. London Fire Brigade scrambled ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters to battle the flames.
Fire Engulfs Second Floor
The blaze broke out at 9:08 a.m., quickly consuming a section of the school’s second floor. Fire crews deployed a massive 32-metre turntable ladder to douse the fire from above. Teams from Homerton, Stoke Newington, Tottenham, and neighbouring stations joined forces to contain the inferno.
Miraculously, no injuries have been reported so far.
Swift Action Brings Fire Under Control
Control officers responded rapidly after receiving nine calls about the fire. Thanks to the quick mobilisation, the fire was under control by 11:34 a.m., limiting the damage to a small part of the building.

“Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a fire at a school on Downs Park Road in Hackney. A small part of the second floor was alight. There are currently no reports of any injuries,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Authorities are working hard to secure the site and determine how the fire started.
