Flames Rip Through Front Garden of Terraced House
Firefighters rushed to a terraced house after bushes outside went up in flames, damaging part of the building’s fascia.
Quick Rescue from Smoke-Logged Home
Wearing breathing apparatus, crews rescued a man trapped inside the smoke-filled ground floor. Luckily, no one was hurt.
“On arrival we found bushes blazing outside, with flames catching the front of the house,” said Firefighter Samantha Meade. Our teams battled the fire hard to stop it from spreading inside. The ground floor was heavy with smoke, but we got the man out safely. Thankfully, he was uninjured.”
Swift Response Keeps Fire in Check
- Fire Brigade received five emergency calls about the blaze.
- Emergency services called at 9.15pm, fire under control by 9.38pm.
- Three fire engines and 15 firefighters from Dagenham, Hornchurch, and Ilford stations tackled the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
