LNER Urges Passengers to Avoid Travel Amid Severe Flooding
London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has warned travellers to steer clear of its services today due to widespread flooding chaos. The iconic east coast operator, running between Scotland and London, revealed large sections of its network are underwater and out of action.
Services North of Edinburgh Ground to a Halt
- LNER is operating an “extremely limited service” with trains facing last-minute cancellations.
- All train services north of Edinburgh have been completely suspended.
- No bus replacements are available because of road closures.
Passengers Told: Don’t Travel, Get Refunds
“Customers are being advised to defer travel,” LNER said.
Tickets valid up to October 27, including Sunday, October 22, can be fully refunded with no fees. But storms won’t ease overnight—disruption is expected to continue through Sunday.
LNER Focuses on Safety and Service Recovery
The company promises to prioritise passenger safety and work hard to restore normal services amid the flooding fallout.
