London Firefighters Lead Winter Coat Drive for the Homeless
As the cold snap hits London, fire stations across the capital are stepping up for the fourth year running. Joining forces with the Wrap Up London campaign, they’re collecting warm winter coats for those battling the biting chill on the streets.
Chief Firefighter Pleads for Donations
Station Officer Paul Anstey, the campaign’s driving force, urged Londoners to dig out their spare coats. He said, “Our goal is to bring warmth to the more vulnerable people in our communities. The Wrap Up London campaign has been an incredible platform for this cause, and we are thrilled to continue into our fourth year. We are immensely grateful to everyone who has donated in the past and to the firefighters who have volunteered their time for this cause.”
Where to Drop Your Coats
Londoners can donate any warm coats they no longer need at twelve fire stations across the city. The deadline for donations is 27 November. Drop-off points include:
- Acton
- Clapham
- Euston
- Hornchurch
- Old Kent Road
- Poplar
- Shoreditch
- Sidcup
- Soho
- Surbiton
- Wembley
- Woodside
If these spots aren’t convenient, more drop-off locations are available. Just search “Wrap Up London” online to find your nearest centre.
Firefighters Go Beyond the Call of Duty
This campaign shines a spotlight on London’s firefighters doing more than fighting blazes. By rallying the community to donate, they’re helping vulnerable Londoners survive the harsh winter. It’s a chance for the city to come together and make a real difference to those without proper winter clothing.
