Blaze Rips Through Barking Block of Flats – Dozens of Firefighters Battle Huge Fire
A massive fire has engulfed a block of flats on De Pass Gardens, Barking this afternoon, sparking chaos and sending plumes of smoke across the skyline.
Huge Fire Devours Flats from Ground to Sixth Floor
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters from Barking, Dagenham, East Ham, and neighbouring stations have been tackling the blaze since it broke out at 3.31pm. Flames have ripped through multiple flats, bursting out along the outside walls and spreading towards nearby properties.
Emergency Services on High Alert
The London Fire Brigade confirmed the fire is still active, with crews working hard to contain the inferno. A spokesman said: “The ground floor to the sixth floor of the block are currently alight.”
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police are assisting with road closures and crowd control but reported no injuries so far.
