Tragic Death as Person Struck by Train at Herne Bay
Emergency services were called to Herne Bay railway station just after 10pm on Tuesday following a fatal incident.
Rescue Efforts Unable to Save Victim
British Transport Police from Maidstone, Kent Police, paramedics, and Network Rail staff rushed to the scene after a person was hit by a train passing through the platform.
Despite their best efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Major Delays as Police Investigate
Train services were severely disrupted for hours. Many passengers were trapped between stations while police carried out their investigations.
The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file has been prepared for the coroner.
