Beware M25 May Bank Holiday Road Closures – Plan Ahead!
Drivers gearing up for May Bank Holiday getaways or family visits face major disruption on the M25 this weekend. Multiple closures will hit various carriageways, slip roads, and link roads in both directions – mostly late at night and early morning.
Saturday Night Shutdowns: May 4
From 10pm Saturday to 5:30am Sunday, key parts of the M25 will be shut. The clockwise link from Junction 26 to the M11 southbound at Junction 6 closes for essential work. The anti-clockwise link from Junction 27 to M11 southbound (J6) also shuts during these hours.
Plus, the M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 25 and Junction 23 faces closures, including entry and exit slip roads at Junctions 23, 24, and 25. These are NEAR enabling works with diversions routed via local authority roads.
Sunday Night Delays: May 5
Closures return Sunday night, 10pm-5:30am Monday. The same M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to M11 southbound at Junction 6 remain closed. Additional shut sections include the whole clockwise carriageway from Junction 23 to Junction 25, plus related slip roads.
Bank Holiday Monday Night: May 6
Closures continue Monday night from 10pm until 6am Tuesday. The areas affected are identical to Sunday’s shutdown, with similar diversions in place.
