Shock Crash on A259 Buckle Bypass: Woman Seriously Hurt
Early Wednesday, a red Nissan Micra and a dark Hyundai Getz crashed head-on on the A259 Buckle Bypass near Marine Parade. The smash happened around 7.20am, bringing the busy route to a standstill.
Emergency Airlift for Woman in Her 80s
Emergency crews rushed to the scene. A woman in her 80s, driving one of the cars, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted by helicopter to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Road Closures and Traffic Chaos
All lanes between Marine Parade and Beacon Road are closed. Drivers are forced to take diversions via Beacon Road, adding to morning rush-hour misery.
Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Kieran McDonald urged:
“If you saw the collision or either vehicle just before the crash, please get in touch. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage.”
