London Bridge Train Evacuated Over Weapon Sighting

British Transport Police swooped on a London Bridge train after reports of a man carrying a weapon sparked panic.

Platforms Shut and Passengers Searched

The drama unfolded at around 3pm on Friday. Platforms five and six were shut down and cordoned off while officers evacuated the 1:58pm Thameslink service from Rainham to Luton.

Travel was disrupted as the train was delayed by 18 minutes while passengers were thoroughly searched for any signs of danger.

All Clear Given, Train Resumes Journey

Once the security sweep was complete, the train was allowed to continue its journey as scheduled. British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
