Woman Missing from Fetter Lane Sparks Police Concern
Rachel Clare Atkinson, 54, vanished from her home on Fetter Lane last Thursday, 19 May 2022. Her disappearance was reported to North Yorkshire Police on Tuesday lunchtime, 24 May.
Fears for Vulnerable Woman
Rachel is described as fairly short, stocky, with long, mousy brown hair tinged with grey and a fringe. She usually dresses in loose-fitting clothes. Police are worried as she left without her medication, mobile phone, and bank card.
Friends and family say it’s completely out of character for Rachel to go missing.
Police Hunt Underway With Public’s Help
Authorities are searching houses, checking CCTV footage, and investigating transport routes including trains, buses, and taxis. Rachel is known to usually travel by train. The British Transport Police are also lending support.
Officers urge anyone who spotted Rachel in the last week or knows her whereabouts to come forward.
