Extra Eyes on Bournemouth Beaches This Summer
Dorset Police and BCP Council have joined forces to boost safety across Bournemouth’s popular seafront and town centre this summer. Patrolling rangers, security staff, and police officers are stepping up their presence to offer immediate assistance and keep the area safe.
Where to Get Help: Rangers, Lifeguards and Wristbands
- Seafront and town rangers patrol the beaches and town centre to help with safety concerns, contact emergency services, or reunite lost friends and family.
- RNLI lifeguards are on duty, with beach towers serving as safe spots to seek help.
- The LV= KidZone wristband scheme helps prevent children and vulnerable adults from going missing. Free wristbands are available from KidZone staff, seafront rangers, and RNLI towers.
Police Reassure Visitors with Visible Patrols
“We’ve strengthened our partnership working and stepped up resources across the beach and town centre,” said Neighbourhood Inspector Darren Harris of Bournemouth Police.
“Local officers will conduct high-visibility patrols, and the Multi-Agency Command Centre (MACC) ensures quick response when people need assistance.”
Community Safety a Top Priority
BCP Council’s Community Safety head, Councillor May Haynes, urged visitors and residents to use the available services:
“We want everyone to know how to help themselves and each other in emergencies, whether it’s a lost child or anti-social behaviour. Just approach our teams for fast support.”
