Blaze breaks out in Tottenham terraced house – fire crews rush to scene!
Six fire engines tackle fierce flames
Yesterday evening, six fire engines and around 40 brave firefighters battled a fierce blaze on Arnold Road, Tottenham. The fire broke out in a two-storey terraced house, damaging part of the first floor and the loft.
No injuries reported but serious damage caused
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. Seven emergency calls flooded the London Fire Brigade’s 999 control as smoke billowed from the property.
Incense sticks blamed for dangerous fire
Officials revealed the fire was likely sparked by the improper use of incense sticks. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson warned:
“Candles, incense sticks, and oil burners are some of the most common fire causes. Never leave them unattended and keep them away from anything flammable.” “Always use a heat-resistant holder and place these items on a stable surface so they don’t topple over.”
Swift response from nearby fire stations
The brigade was called at 5.28pm and had the blaze under control by 6.37pm. Firefighters from Tottenham, Walthamstow, Holloway, and other nearby stations rushed to the property to tackle the flames and protect the neighbourhood.
