Sixteen year old arrested after attacking police

Officers have arrested the outstanding suspect who was wanted following the incident that happened on West End Road/Chalk Hill just after 3pm on September 11. Last night (October 1) a 16-year-old boy from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of escaping lawful custody, theft of a motor vehicle, assaulting a police officer, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and burglary. He remains in police custody at this time. The arrest comes after two police officers in an unmarked car stopped a motorcycle as it had been reported stolen on West End Road on Sept 11. The rider and pillion passenger were detained but evaded police custody during arrest. An officer was assaulted and received hospital treatment for injuries. Officers charged a 20-year-old man from Southampton in connection with the incident on Sept 14. Today, a 16-year-old boy is in police custody in connection with the incident.
