Good Morning Britain Dazzles Again with Festive Christmas Day Special
For the third year running, Good Morning Britain is back this Christmas Day with a sparkling festive special. Hosts Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard, and Kate Garraway bring the glitz in sequins and velvet, joined by expert meteorologists Laura Tobin and Alex Beresford. Plus, Andi Peters delivers the season’s best cracker jokes to get you in the holiday mood.
Heartwarming Reunion with Ukrainian Singing Sensation Amelia
The show’s emotional highlight? Susanna’s reunion with eight-year-old Amelia Anisovych, who went viral after singing Frozen’s ‘Let It Go’ from a bunker in Kiev earlier this year. Susanna first met Amelia in Poland this April before Amelia and her mum Lilia made it safely to the UK.
“It’s such a delight to see you, I’m so thrilled to see you!”
Amelia shares updates, revealing a secret music project and recent trip to America. When asked about her Ukrainian Christmas plans (celebrated on 7th January), Amelia says she’ll be “with the whole family, sitting and eating.” Mum Lilia adds they’ll be returning to Kiev to reunite with Amelia’s dad and extended family, despite the ongoing risks.
Susanna reflects on the poignant moment when Amelia first wondered if she’d ever see her father again amid the war. Amelia and Lilia describe their October return trip to Kiev as “fantastic” but “risky,” noting missiles struck just two days after they moved back to Poland.
“It’s our favourite time of year, and when I prepare for Christmas, I just pray there’s no more war or missile attacks in Ukraine.”
Susanna offers heartfelt wishes: “Our hearts are with you… We hope your family stays safe and that peace comes soon.”
