University Challenge Returns with New Host Amol Rajan
Get ready, quiz fans! University Challenge, one of the UK’s toughest quiz shows, is back on BBC Two and iPlayer from Monday, July 17. This year, 28 student teams will face off in a fierce battle of brains, answering everything from aromatic compounds to ancient philosopher Zeno of Citium.
Fresh Look, Classic Format
The show gets a slick new set and title sequence, but don’t expect any big changes to the format. Fans can still enjoy the lightning-fast, high-stakes questions that made University Challenge a cult favourite. The familiar voice of announcer Roger Tilling will be there to keep the pace lively.
Teams will represent universities from Aberdeen to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton, including a mix of well-known institutions and one of the UK’s smallest and newest universities, making its debut in the competition.
Amol Rajan Takes the Hot Seat
Amol Rajan is only the third ever host of University Challenge in its 61-year history. Known for presenting BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and his prime-time chat show, Amol Rajan Interviews, he promises to bring fresh energy and intensity to the iconic quiz.
