Darya Trepova was arrested in St Petersburg and hauled into a Moscow court on Tuesday. Prosecutors demanded she stays behind bars.
Deadly Explosion Killed Influential Blogger Tatarsky
Vladimir Tatarsky, a well-known pro-Kremlin blogger with over 500,000 followers, was blown up in a Moscow café on Sunday. The blast injured more than 30 people.
Authorities say Trepova confessed on video to bringing the explosive statuette into the café. But she denied knowing it would detonate or playing any further part.
Serious Terror Charges Laid Amid Accusations Against Ukraine
The Investigative Committee charged Trepova with “a terrorist act by an organised group causing intentional death” and “illegal possession of explosives.” They claim Ukraine’s security services planned the attack with help from Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation.
But Kyiv advisor Mykhailo Podolyak dismissed this, calling the bombing an internal Russian political power struggle.
Controversial Figure Tatarsky Posthumously Honoured by Putin
Tatarsky, born in Donetsk and with a criminal record including armed robbery, joined Russian-backed separatists before becoming a pro-Kremlin military blogger. Despite criticising Russian leadership for battlefield failures, Putin awarded him the Order of Courage after his death.
