Two Arrests Made in Child Sexual Exploitation Probe
Police swooped in simultaneous raids at Heald Green and Chorlton-cum-Hardy, nabbing a 52-year-old man suspected of historic child sex offences. The arrests were led by GMP’s specialised Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Team, targeting abusers who preyed on girls under 16 in the early 2000s.
Operation Green Jacket Nets New Arrests
These latest detentions are part of Operation Green Jacket, Greater Manchester Police’s ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse from 2002 to 2005. Dubbed Operation Cheetah for this phase, the painstaking probe strives to bring long-overdue justice to survivors.
Detective Praises Victims’ Courage
“We are pleased with today’s arrests,” said DS Simon France from the CSE team.
“Our team works tirelessly to investigate non-recent serious sexual offences against children. Even though two decades have passed, we remain dedicated to ensuring perpetrators face justice.”
“These young girls are now women with families of their own. We commend their bravery in coming forward and sharing their painful stories to help us build a strong case.”
This operation sends a clear message: no matter how much time has passed, abusers will be hunted down and made to answer for their crimes.
